Weekly Mercy Memo 09.28.16

A message from our principal, Mrs. Anne Knapke

Dear Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Family and Friends,

Our Boots & Bling Auction is quickly approaching!  This biennial gala and auction event has been organized by a dedicated and creative team of parent volunteers led by Rebecca Villano and Lisa Salamone.  Through their leadership, as well as the support from our donors and sponsors, Boots & Bling will directly and positively impact GMA’s current and future students.  Proceeds will allow us to continue to develop our curricular, cultural arts, technological, and tuition assistance programs, while also supporting our continued facility enhancements.  If you have not already done so, please consider purchasing a ticket to support GMA.  Not only will you be making a difference for our students, you will have a fun and entertaining night as well.

On Tuesday, October 11, we will be kicking off our Look for the Good Project with a school-wide assembly at 10:00 am in our gymnasium.  Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.  GMA is very appreciative of the support from our Parents' Organization to bring this positive program to our Mercy community, and we are grateful so many of you purchased t-shirts to help offset the cost of this Gratitude Campaign.

Finally, thank you for your support, prayers, and kind words in honor of Mercy Day and my installation as Gwynedd-Mercy Academy’s new Principal.  The Mercy charism is alive and thriving at GMA, and I look forward to further developing, while holding sacred, our mission to nurture and educate our students in an environment built on Mercy, rooted in Gospel Values, and committed to excellence.  On behalf of my husband, Kris, and my two daughters, Grace and Annabel, thank you for welcoming us wholeheartedly into GMA’s Circle of Mercy.

In Christ's love and mercy,

Anne W. Knapke, M.Ed.

Mercy Day was a great expression of Mercy tradition! (click for a slideshow)  We celebrated with the induction of our Student Council and the installation of our new principal, Mrs. Anne Knapke, at our Mercy Day Liturgy and welcomed members of the Sisters of Mercy Mid-Atlantic Leadership Team, including President, Sister Pat Vetrano. In the afternoon, we gathered for our Dollars for Peru friendly grade vs. grade competition/dance party as the 8th grade Student Council members revved up the crowd. Thanks to our generous GMA community, this year's collection raised over $4,950. The first grade students were the winners for the greatest donation per student.
