A message from our principal, Mrs. Anne Knapke

Dear Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Family and Friends,

We are very excited that GMA has been given the opportunity to showcase our school community in this year's Ambler Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 3rd, at 1:00 PM. Not only is this parade a terrific venue to market our fabulous school, but it is also a festive way for our school community to come together to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season. We hope many of you will mark your calendars for this special event to cheer on your students as they march along with our GMA Christmas float. More information, along with a link to sign up your students, is included in this week's Mercy Memo.

As GMA's new Principal, it has been a delight over the past several months to get to know the school community and witness the vibrant Mercy charism that is exhibited each and every day. I am truly grateful to be a part the GMA community that is made up of so many wonderful, talented, and giving families, students, faculty, and staff. This Thanksgiving, please know how thankful I am for you and your family.

Attention 7th Grade Parents: Registration is now open for Explorer Test Prep @ GMA. This high school entrance exam prep course is designed to prepare your child for the 7th Grade Practice Test and the 8th Grade High School Entrance Exam Process. Click here for more information, including registration.

The 7th and 8th grade will be sponsoring a Bake Sale and GoPro raffle to fund their St. Vincent's Christmas project next week. The sale dates are Wednesday, November 30, through Friday, December 2. Please support their efforts on behalf of families in need right here in the Philadelphia area.

7th and 8th Grade Parents: Remember to sign up your children for the December 13th St. Vincent's Project after school activity! This is a very meaningful way to #MakeMercyReal.

GMA will be participating in the Ambler Main Street Annual Holiday Parade! Sign up in advance is REQUIRED to ensure we have enough faculty supervision. The parade will be Saturday, December 3rd, and student drop off will be at Upper Dublin Lutheran Church at 12:15 pm and pick up will be at the Ambler SEPTA parking lot from 1:45-2:00 pm. GMA Santa hats will be provided as we sing Christmas carols marching down Butler Avenue.

Our Student Council is sponsoring its Annual Poinsettia sale to support the 7th and 8th grade St. Vincent's Project, helping families in need in the Germantown area of Philadelphia at Christmas. Attention, Parents of Girls in Grades 3-5:

Registration for Girls on the Run @ GMA is now open! Click here to register your daughter. If you are unfamiliar with Girls on the Run, please click here to find out more about this amazing program, which includes a focus on exercise and nutrition, as well as self-confidence, and the importance of celebrating our own unique identities.

If any parent is interested in assisting with GOTR as a Coach, and you have not yet contacted Mrs. Connolly, please do so at bconnolly@gmaelem.org.

Yankee Candle orders are in and sorted in alphabetical order in the lower hallway near the Nurse's Office. If you'd like to order some Yankee Candles for the Christmas holidays, it's not too late. Place your order online at Yankee Candle Fundraising. GMA Group No. 990037417.

Mercy Connect

You can still sign up for Mercy Connect, a Math/ELA/Homework Helper Program where girls from Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School volunteer to come on Wednesday afternoons from 3:15 to 4:15 to assist children one-on-one or in small groups. Children in Grades 1 through 6 may participate. Click here to learn more about this program!
