High School Placement
In a testament to GMA's academic excellence, traditionally nearly 100% of our graduates are accepted into prestigious private high schools. Over the last 5 years, 20% of our 8th grade graduates have been awarded academic scholarships.
The high school placement process begins in 7th grade, when Gwynedd-Mercy Academy sponsors a high school information night for our 7th and 8th grade students and their parents. Admissions representatives from area private Catholic high schools make presentations and distribute application packages. In the fall of 8th grade, as the application process begins, students take a test-taking skills class and GMA staff work with families to ensure that all transcripts and letters of recommendation are submitted to prospective high schools in a timely fashion.

Pictured to the left are the members of the Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Class of 2009 who have been awarded academic scholarships to area high schools. These accomplished students were awarded a total of 13 scholarships; two to St. Joseph's Preparatory School, four to La Salle College High School, three to Mount Saint Joseph Academy, one to Gwynedd-Mercy Academy, one to Merion Mercy Academy and two to Devon Preparatory School.
