About Us
Built on Mercy, Rooted in Gospel Values and Committed to Excellence
Gwynedd-Mercy Academy is a private Catholic school for boys and girls, dedicated to delivering a high-quality education grounded in Gospel values. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1861 and part of the Mercy Education System of the Americas (MESA), our school blends a rich tradition of academic excellence with innovative teaching, technology integration, and 21st-century skills—critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration—all within a nurturing, child-centered environment.
Our students are challenged and supported to reach their full potential. With a strong academic foundation, vibrant arts and music programs, team-based athletics, and meaningful enrichment opportunities, every child is encouraged to discover their gifts and grow into confident, capable learners.
Faith and service are central to life at GMA. In partnership with families, we foster a community rooted in compassion and spiritual growth. Students actively participate in outreach programs—both locally and globally—gaining a deeper understanding of their role as people of Mercy and the importance of using their talents to make a difference in the world.
Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary has been honored as the recipient of Exemplary High Performing National Blue Ribbon Recognition three times, in 2007, 2017 and 2023. To have received three of these prestigious education awards is an acknowledgment of our deep commitment to excellence and innovation, as well as the dedication of a top-rate faculty.
