About Us

Gwynedd-Mercy Academy is a private, Catholic, academy for boys and girls committed to quality education integrated with Gospel values. A ministry established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1861, and a member of the Mercy Education System of the Americas (MESA), Gwynedd-Mercy Academy combines a long tradition of academic excellence with innovative teaching methodology and progressive technology integration to create a caring, child-centered environment.

Students at Gwynedd-Mercy Academy are nurtured and encouraged to reach the highest standards of excellence. Challenging academic curriculum, extensive arts and music programs, team-building athletic program and numerous extended learning opportunities allow our students recognize their gifts and to actualize their potential.

Developing the faith life of the school community, in partnership with parents, is paramount at Gwynedd-Mercy Academy. Participation in the Witness to Mercy anti-bullying program, supports our religion curriculum. Students in every grade are afforded opportunities to participate in numerous outreach activities at the local level and to support outreach as far away as South America. These many opportunities strengthen students’ awareness of their Mercy commitment to share their gifts and resources with those in need.

Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary has been honored as the recipient of Exemplary High Performing National Blue Ribbon Recognition three times, in 2007, 2017 and 2023. To have received three of these prestigious education awards is an acknowledgment of our deep commitment to excellence and innovation, as well as the dedication of a top-rate faculty.
