Admissions Process

Process for Pre-K Applicants

Application: Applications to Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary are submitted online. Once the application is completed the child is entered into the admission process and applicant pool for our Pre-K(4) class. The family will hear from the Director of Admissions after the application has been processed to review the admissions process.
School Information and Virtual Interview: The Director of Admissions will be available to talk with parent(s) to regarding the school program, curriculum and pre-enrollment screening. She will also set up a Zoom virtual meeting with the student. We expect that the applying family will have the opportunity to tour the school during the summer months if they have not already done so.
Pre-K Readiness Form: A Pre-K Readiness form, completed by a prior preschool teacher, is required for the 2021-2022 school year.
Pre-enrollment Screening: A third-party screening is required of all applicants. This screening assesses pre-academic skills.
Registration: After a child is accepted to Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary parents will receive a letter of acceptance and a formal registration form In addition to the registration form, parents are asked to submit a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 which is applied to tuition.

Process for Kindergarten Applicants

Application: Applications to Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary are submitted online. The family will hear from the Director of Admissions after the application has been processed to review the admissions process.

Pre-enrollment Screening: A third-party screening is required of all applicants. This screening assesses academic skills, as well as reasoning abilities. This screening may be conducted virtually or in-person.
Kindergarten Readiness Form: A Kindergarten Readiness form is required for all students applying to Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary. A preschool teacher should fill out the form on behalf of your child.
Registration: After a child is accepted to Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary parents will receive a letter of acceptance and a formal registration form In addition to the registration form, parents are asked to submit a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 which is applied to tuition.

Process for Grades 1-8 Applicants

Application: Applications to Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary can be submitted online. Once the child is entered into the admission process and applicant pool for their respective grade. A family will hear from the Admissions Director after the application has been processed to discuss the applications process.
Grades and Standardized Test Results: Student records for two years prior should accompany a child's application. Records should include any report cards and standardized test scores.
School Information and Virtual Interview: The Director of Admissions will be available to talk with parent(s) to regarding the school program, curriculum and pre-enrollment screening. She will also set up a Zoom virtual meeting with the student. We expect that the applying family will have the opportunity to tour the school during the summer months if they have not already done so.
Pre-enrollment Screening: A third-party screening is required of all applicants. This screening assesses academic skills, reasoning abilities as well as Math and English/Language Arts capability.
Recommendation Form: A Recommendation Form is required for all students applying to Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary. This form will be provided to families once the School Visit and Interview has been completed. A teacher from the current school year should fill out the form on behalf of your child.
Registration: After a child is accepted to Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary parents will receive a letter of acceptance, a formal registration form, and, if the child is entering grades 1 to 7, a letter for release of school records. In addition to the registration form, parents are asked to submit a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 which is applied to tuition.
