Dear Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Family and Friends,
Thank you to all who attended yesterday evening's Arts Festival. We have quite the talent at GMA! Thank you Ms. Tierney, Mr. Banks, Mrs. Sweeney, Mrs. Hober, and Mrs. Martin for your leadership throughout this school year in fostering within our school community a love and appreciation for the performing and visual arts.
As a belated Mother's Day treat, we welcome all mothers and mother-figures tomorrow for Muffins for Moms beginning at 7:30 AM in the cafeteria, followed by a special Thursday Community Gathering at 8:10 AM in the gymnasium. We are excited to have received such an overwhelming RSVP response. Just as we managed Donuts for Dads, we will do our very best to provide as many parking spaces as possible.
Lastly, the deadline to register for a GMA summer camp, led by our talented GMA faculty, is quickly approaching on Wednesday, May 24. If you plan on registering, please do so as soon as possible.

What a beautiful May Procession we had last Friday, a lovely prayer service in honor of the Blessed Mother. Our first communicants and 8th grade soon-to-be graduates were full of the spirit of Mercy on their special day. Click here to see a slideshow of the May Procession.
Consider Joining the Parents' Organization Team Today!
The GMA Parents' Organization enhances the student and parent experience at GMA by helping to plan, organize and implement services and functions which align with the School's mission. Our children are our top priority.
There are a number of director positions open with a 2-year term, and several team member positions, with only a 1-year commitment. The Parents' Organization's new positions will begin in the new school year, in September 2017. Deadline for nominations is May 22 at noon.
Host Families Wanted: We need a few school families to extend the hand of Mercy hospitality to new families beginning this summer and into the fall. Contact Mrs. Bethanne Connolly in the Admissions office to volunteer.
All students are invited to support the National Junior Honor Society Bake Sale on Thursday, 5/18, and Friday, 5/19!! All items are $1.00 and proceeds will go towards the Class of 2017 gift to GMA!
Let's Get Active Night for grades 5-8 will be on Friday, May 19th from 6:30-9:00 PM.
Activities will include yoga as well as some gym class favorites... whether it's dodge ball or gaga the kids will be sure to have fun! RSVP now.
The Parents' Organization is sponsoring the sale of Red and Gold Day t-shirts. These dry fit fabric t-shirts are a fun, completely optional item and students may continue to wear red or gold t-shirts, depending on team assignments, from their closets at home.

Grades 2, 3, & 4 may purchase books during regularly scheduled Library classes. Grades 5, 6, & 7 will purchase during ELA classes. All sales are cash and carry. Click here to see this year's Summer Reading titles. Suggested summer reading for incoming grades K-2 will be posted later this month.
Dress Down Day on Friday, May 19th
- Cost is $1.00 per student
- Proceeds will go towards the 8th grade class gift
- Students should wear casual clothes AND will be able to wear shorts
- Shorts should be at least as long as your fingertips when standing up straight with arms at your side
The tentative calendar for the 2017-2018 school year has been prepared. We do not yet have dates for the Terra Nova tests or the School Musical as we are waiting for final word from the Archdiocesan Office of Education as to when the Terra Nova standardized tests have been scheduled. Lavner Summer Campers can explore their interests in Sports, Technology, the Arts and more! Register for 1+ weeks, specialize in an area of interest each week.
The deadline to sign up for GMA faculty camps is approaching. Camps will run Monday to Friday the weeks of June 12 and 19 and include sports, academic enrichment, Jumpstart into Kindergarten, and many other fun activities. Watch this summer camp commercial produced by the GMA Broadcast Team.
