We wish all our school families a very safe and happy Thanksgiving, enjoying the bonds of friends and family and taking the time to be thankful for our blessings.

Upon return to school, on November 27, time will be moving very quickly to the Christmas holidays as it always does. Within this email are details about a number of special activities and deadlines related to our Blue Ribbon School holiday events, so please review carefully, so as not to miss anything important.

Student Council Poinsettia Sale!

Support the 7th and 8th grade's service project which provides a complete Christmas for families in need by buying beautiful poinsettia plants. Attention Grades 6-8 Parents: Don't miss the next installment in our Middle School Speaker Series! Sign up your middle school student to join us on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 3:30-4:30 PM. Jennifer Hinds, the Curriculum Manager from A Woman's Place in Doylestown, will join us for a presentation on Building Healthy Relationships. This talk will helps students learn how to identify and set personal boundaries; think about what is healthy and unhealthy in relationships; and how to help themselves or a friend in relationship situations. Please RSVP for this important program.

Calling all Christmas Elves, our Mercy Christmas Market will be here in two short weeks!! The Mercy Christmas Market will be on December 6th and is a special day for our students where we open the Gallery for them to shop for their loved ones. It takes many to make this fun-filled GMA tradition a successful event for our students. Please consider donating your time and click here to volunteer! Family Christmas Caroling at Spring House Estates
—Mercy Connections Service Opportunity—

Open to all families, grades K-8!!!

Join us as GMA families spread Christmas cheer to our neighbors at Spring House Estates. The caroling will take place from 4-5:30 PM. GMA students that are participating will stay after school for hot chocolate, a snack and to make Christmas cards for the residents of Spring House Estates. We ask that all parents meet us at the GMA gym by 4:00 PM. We will walk over as a group. Please click here for additional details and to RSVP. This is a sign up event!! Join the GMA parade float as we march in the Ambler Holiday Parade on Saturday December 2nd - deadline to sign up is November 28.

Parade participation sign up in advance is REQUIRED to ensure we have enough faculty supervision (click here). The parade will be Saturday, December 2nd, and student drop off will be at the 7-11 at Butler Avenue and Bethlehem Pike at 12:15 PM. Pick up will be at the Ambler SEPTA parking lot from 1:45-2:00 PM. Students are encouraged to wear GMA Spirit Wear, or gym sweatshirts, jean and a GMA sports scarf.

Attention: 7th and 8th grade parents!
For the past 24 years, the 7th and 8th grade students have participated in a rewarding Christmas project which involves providing Christmas presents, Christmas trees, decorations, and dinner for several families from St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Germantown. The date for the St. Vincent Project this year is Tuesday, December 12, 2017. Click here to make sure your child is included in this important project.

Barnes and Noble Christmas Event! Plan to join us next Friday night, December 1 from 6-8 PM. Kick off the holidays with a pajama party and holiday festivities. Click here for more details!

Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary is first school in Pennsylvania to partner with Educational Passages and yesterday our 8th grade students traveled to Barnegat Light, NJ to hand off the 3 mini-boats they assembled and painted.

Upon arrival in Barnegat Light, the students met with Doug Zemeckis, Ph.D., Marine Extension Agent with the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Dr. Zemeckis introduced them to the ship captains who will be launching the boats about 200 miles into the ocean so that they will catch the Gulf Stream and head across the Atlantic. The students will be able to track their boats during the school year.

Attention 7th Grade Parents: Explorer Test Prep will once again host their high school entrance exam prep course here at GMA! The course will be run on eight Thursdays, from January - March 2018.
