GMA Mercy Memo 12.13.17

Dear Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Family and Friends,

An email was sent to parents and guardians today containing information regarding how to access our electronic report cards located within RenWeb's ParentsWeb.  As always, communication is very important to us.  If you have any questions concerning your child's report card, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher.

GMA is filled with the spirit of community and giving as we draw closer to Christmas. Due to the efforts of our 7th and 8th grade students and the support of our entire school community, our adopted families of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Germantown will be blessed with Christmas cheer this holiday season. In addition to families receiving gifts purchased and wrapped by our students, families of St. Vincent's will also be provided Christmas trees donated by our Parents' Organization. Our faculty and staff have purchased new winter coats for the children who attend the before- and after-school program at Mercy Neighborhood Ministries. We are truly grateful to partner with St. Vincent de Paul Parish and Mercy Neighborhood Ministries to help fellow families in need. 

We currently have over 100 students and parents participating in tomorrow's GMA Family Christmas Caroling at Spring House Estates.  As the residents look forward to regular visits from our students throughout the year, they will surely be delighted to have our families spread Christmas joy throughout their facility. 

Our faculty and staff are looking forward to hosting our K-4 Christmas Movie Night on Friday, December 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.  We hope that this event will allow our parents the opportunity to get some last minute shopping done, grab a bight to eat with friends, or simply sit back and relax during this busy time of year.  We are thankful to the many faculty and staff who have volunteered their time to provide a fun-filled evening for our children.

Report cards for the first trimester are now available for parent review in Renweb per instructions sent out earlier this afternoon. If you have any question about ParentWeb, please contact our Director of Database and IT, Tyler Mitchell at helpdesk@gmaelem.org.

Lastly, as mentioned in our previous Mercy Memo, our annual Christmas Family Prayer Service will be held this Tuesday, December 19 at 7:00 PM.  All are welcome!

All are welcome to join us at the Christmas Family Prayer Service on Tuesday, December 19 at 7:00 PM!

The prayer service will feature first grade's "A Great Day in Bethlehem," followed by the 8th Grade Nativity Tableau. Families are invited to bring a gift offering for a child in need.  

• Grades K-4:  An unwrapped toy (if a doll, please pick a doll of color)
• Grades 5-8:  An unwrapped article of clothing

If you are unable to join us, we ask that you bring your gift to school on or before December 19th.  All gifts will be taken to St. Vincent parish for distribution to children in need.

REMINDER: Poinsettia pick up is today, Wednesday, 12/13, and Thursday, 12/14 from 3:30-6:00 PM in the Gallery. Thanks to all who supported our Student Council in their St. Vincent's Project fundraiser.
