VirtualED Program

How does my child get started in the VirtualED Program?

All grades K-8 students should login into Schoology by 8:15 AM each morning to join homeroom (Schoology Questions - click here).
Pre-K (4) students should be logged in and ready to learn at 8:30 AM.
Attendance will be taken in homeroom and noted in classes throughout the day.
Once in homerooms, students will be guided by homeroom teachers.
All students will move through their A-G Day schedules.

Student Expectations

Students must wear appropriate clothing during VirtualED

Students must have their cameras on at all times during teacher instruction

Students must have a proper work space for the VirtualED program

Kitchen/Dining Room table is appropriate
Home office is appropriate
Seated at a desk somewhere in their room is appropriate
Beds ARE NOT an appropriate work space
If using a couch, sofa or chair, students MUST be seated upright with something serving like the top of a desk would for writing, typing, and stationing of tech
Students should not be eating on their calls
Animal friends and pets should not be a distraction
Cell phones should not be used during classes

Pre-K (4)

Time	Learning Activity
8:30-9:00 AM	ZOOM Attendance/Broadcast/Learning Activity
10:30-11:00 AM	ZOOM Learning Activity
12:30-1:00 PM	ZOOM Learning Activity - on days when there are no special classes only

There will be a ZOOM link in the students' Schoology accounts. Daily ZOOMS will be daily 8:30- 9:00 AM, 10:30- 11:00 AM, and Special Area Classes will be at the same time that are currently scheduled. On days there are no Special Area Classes, Pre-K will ZOOM from 12:30- 1:00 PM. Schoology is on Pre-K iPads and students have practiced. Pre-K students will need help logging on, but that will generally be the only help they'll need. School supplies which have been sent home are filled with items needed for the VirtualED experience and are organized for easy use. Please don't allow the students free access to the materials as they are necessary for the success of our learning.

Grades K-3

8:15-8:45 AM	ZOOM Attendance/Broadcast/Morning Meeting/Religion (Shared screen for Broadcast so the class can watch it together)
9:00-10:30 AM	ZOOM Reading/Writing Instruction (Whole group instruction M/W/F, Small group instruction T/R)
10:30-11:00 AM	Brain Break (Students should step away/power off computer for the ½ hour break)
11:00 AM-12:00 PM	ZOOM Math Workshop (Small group M/W, Whole group T/R/F)
12:00-1:00 PM	Lunch/Recess (Students should step away/power off computer for this hour – Teachers will not be available)
1:00-2:00 PM	ZOOM Science or Social Studies two days for each subject, Friday wrap-up
2:00-3:00 PM	ZOOM with Special Area Teachers

Grades 4-8

Time	3-4 hours of daily live instruction recommended Learning Activity

Period 2 - 9:00 - 10:00 AM	ZOOM Reading/Writing Workshop (consists of 2 days per week of small group instruction)
Period 3 - 10:00 - 11:00 AM	ZOOM World Language (1 day a cycle of small group instruction)
Period 4 - 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM	Lunch/Recess (Students should step away/power off computer for this hour – Teachers will not be available)
Period 5 - 12:00 - 1:00 PM	ZOOM Math Workshop (consists of 1 day per week of small group instruction)
Period 6 - 1:00 - 2:00 PM	ZOOM Science or Social Studies
Period 7 - 2:00 - 3:00 PM	ZOOM Elective/Special Area/Public Speaking
