Summer 2016 Reading Information

As a way to keep students involved in a successful reading program, a summer reading list has been compiled for each grade level. Below are links to specific summer reading information for our incoming grades for September 2016.

Summer Reading: GMA will be selling incoming grades 3-8 required summer reading books only. A limited supply will be available for sale in the library through June 3rd. All sales are cash and carry.

Below are summer reading lists for incoming grades 3-8:

  • The book(s) marked with Required is required reading for each grade.
  • The Library will have all the required books available for purchase during Library/ILA classes.

2nd Grade Entering 3rd Grade

One Required Book:

Grade 4 students must read the required title only, others are suggestions for additional reading.

Grade 5 students must read the required title only, others are suggestions for additional reading.

Required: Frindle by Andrew Clements $7.99

5th Grade Entering 6th Grade

Grade 6 students must read the required title as well as at least ONE of the other books listed below.

Choice and appropriate grade Reading Olympics lists.

    • MonMar27 French Toast Sticks with Sausage and Fruit Cup/a la carte Chicken Tenders $4.25
    • MonMar27 Reading Olympics - Elementary Competition Wissahickon High School

      Participants will dress down in summer uniform shirts, dark pants or nice jeans and clean, comfortable shoes with socks. They will report to the library after school and will have dinner at 4:00 PM. Teams will board the bus between 5:00 & 5:15. Parents will pick students up around 8:15/8:30. Parents are encouraged to attend the event to support their student.
